Description
Begin with a sunrise canoe tour along Tortuguero’s calm canals. This tour begins at 6:00 a.m. and lasts approximately two hours. Early morning is the best moment to observe wildlife, and your guide uses a spotting scope to reveal details impossible to see unaided. Monkeys, herons, kingfishers, sloths, iguanas, and caimans are commonly seen as the forest awakens. The quiet pace and low-impact navigation make this an exceptional experience for photographers and visitors seeking peaceful wildlife encounters.
After the canoe tour, enjoy a traditional Costa Rican breakfast at Oasis, with several options to choose from. Guests may also use the free time between activities to relax or enjoy their meals using the included meal coupon.
Later, explore the Jaguar Trail, one of Tortuguero’s most emblematic rainforest paths. This hike starts at 11:00 a.m. and lasts about two hours. Your certified guide interprets tracks, behaviors, feeding signs, and ecological relationships that show how animals move through the forest. With the spotting scope, you can observe birds, reptiles, and species camouflaged in dense vegetation. A freshly prepared Costa Rican lunch with multiple options is included and served at Mi Niño, one of Tortuguero’s most recognized restaurants.
Guests have additional free time between activities to rest, explore, or enjoy their included meals.
At night, the experience transforms into a guided walk focused on the forest’s nocturnal life. The night walk begins at 6:00 p.m. and lasts approximately two hours. Using ethical spotlighting, your guide leads you to areas where frogs, insects, reptiles, and mammals become active. With a calm, respectful approach, you learn how to observe wildlife safely without disturbing its natural behavior. After the night walk, enjoy an included Costa Rican dinner at Mi Niño, with several traditional options available.
Choose between two formats: completing the trilogy in one full adventure day or dividing it into two days for a more relaxed pace. In the two-day option, the night walk and dinner at Mi Niño take place on the first evening, followed by breakfast at Oasis, the sunrise canoe tour at 6:00 a.m., and the Jaguar Trail hike at 11:00 a.m. the next morning. This flexibility makes the experience accessible to different travel styles and schedules.
Throughout the itinerary, the free time between each activity allows guests to enjoy their included meals at Oasis and Mi Niño or simply relax and explore the village at their own pace.
