Fortress of San Carlos de la Cabana
The Fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña is located on a hill to the east side of the port of Havana, in the Morro-Cabaña Military Historical Park. This colossal fortification was erected in the 18th century, between 1763 and 1774, in order to cover a weak point in the city's defenses.
The Revolution Square is located in the municipality of Havana that bears the same name. In addition to being one of the largest public squares in the world, with 72,000 square meters, it is a place of great historical value, since it has been the scene of several of the main events and events of the Cuban Revolution. In it a million people (almost one tenth of the Cuban population) have congregated.
Colonial Art Museum
The Colonial Art Museum is housed in the oldest building in Old Havana, the Palace of the Counts of Casa Bayona, a mansion rebuilt in 1720 by the governor of Cuba Don Luis Chachón, which highlights its beautiful courtyard Classic and precious wood paneling. This palace enjoys an enviable location in front of the Cathedral of San Cristobal de La Habana.
Castle of the Three Holy Kings of Morro
The Castle of the Three Holy Kings of Morro was erected between 1589 and 1630 with the purpose of protecting the entrance to the port of Havana from pirates and invaders. This fortress is perched on a rocky ledge, known as El Morro, over the Atlantic Ocean. The field master Juan de Texeda, and the military engineer Batista Antonelli were in charge of designing it by order of the king of Spain.
National Museum of Fine Arts of Cuba
The National Museum of Fine Arts of Cuba is an exciting art museum that is housed in two buildings located next to the famous Paseo de Martí, in the center of Havana. It aims to restore, preserve and promote the works that are part of the plastic heritage of Cuba and is equipped with 24 rooms where old art collections are exhibited, art rooms dedicated to teachers of all times and rooms with temporary exhibitions.
Castle of the Royal Force
The Castillo de la Real Fuerza is a great example of military architecture in times of Spanish rule in the Caribbean. It is located on the side that overlooks the sea of the Plaza de Armas, in Old Havana. Today, the castle, together with the rest of the fortifications of the city and the historic center, has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Soroa is a natural place of great beauty and great variety, considered a Biosphere Reserve. It is located about 95 kilometers west of Havana and is a popular day trip. Visitors from all over the world come to this beautiful place to admire and enjoy the natural beauty that was created in this rugged area of Cuba, surrounded by mountains and rivers.
Great Theater of Havana Alicia Alonso
The Great Theater of Havana Alicia Alonso, headquarters of the Ballet and the National Opera of Cuba, is located in Centro Habana, on the Paseo de Martí, right next to the National Capitol of Cuba. Currently this building forms a large cultural complex with several rooms and is one of the most important cultural institutions in Latin America.
