Barmarin Private House
Barmarin Private HouseIf there was a boutique version of the Casa Particular, or private home, concept, Barmarín would definitely be in that category.
If there was a boutique version of the Casa Particular, or private home, concept, Barmarín would definitely be in that category. Built around 1790 in a super-centric location, it was refurbished in 2012, preserving the original structure as much as possible. The details of its colonial architecture have been exquisitely preserved, such as the wooden doors and windows and the decorative motifs on the walls, and go hand in hand with modern facilities.
This is a family business that also has a gallery named in honor of the Belgian painter and sculptor Elisabeth Barmarín, who visited Trinidad on numerous occasions.
The first room, which has a private bathroom, is situated after the gallery, while the other two, which share a bathroom, are located by the central courtyard. The Barmarín is perfect for families or for groups traveling together.
The house if located on a quiet street in Trinidad’s Historic Center. You are just two blocks away from Plaza Mayor and the Municipal History Museum. There are numerous local crafts shops nearby.
We recommend breakfast in the courtyard, next to jasmine shrubs and an avocado tree, to start off the day with a great experience
