It is one of the best locations in Trinidad, in the southern part of the central province of Sancti Spiritus. Located in the oldest part of town, it is very well preserved. You almost get the impression that you have entered a period movie set. No wonder it is called The Museum-City of the Caribbean. Trinidad was the third city founded on the Island by the Spanish conquistador Diego Velázquez.
 
The Plaza Mayor, Loma del Puerto Viewpoint, Romantic Museum and the Holy Trinity church are places you have to visit. Close by you will also see many stands selling arts and crafts and some good privately-owned restaurants. For evening entertainment, we recommend the Casa de la Trova and the Casa de la Música.
