Now under new management with the adjacent Miramar, the Montehabana is looking spiffy thanks to a recent makeover. Bright colors, wrought-iron furniture and cheerful ceramic tiles play a big part, as does the lovely landscape entrance garden.
The apartment-hotel concept is a unique selling point and the Montehabana has long been a favorite of travelers with children, long stay visitors and those preferring independent vacations where they can cook, entertain and otherwise create a more at-home atmosphere. An on-site grocery store with all the basics, makes this a practical option.
Indeed, several of the rooms are permanently occupied by ex-patriots, working in Cuba for an embassy or foreign company.

This hotel is physically connected to the Miramar, putting the services and facilities of that upscale property at the disposal of Montehabana guests. This includes the swimming pool (free), tennis courts, gym, spa and more. Breakfast, lunch or dinner - according to meal plan - is served in the Miramar, since the Montehabana has only a snack bar.
The Montehabana lobby is done up in rustic comfort (braided sofas and chairs, original ceramics) with a beautifully modern, one-and-a-half-meter chandelier adding a touch of elegance. Internet access is available.
