Description
We will meet at our agency or pick you up at your accommodation at 8:00 am to begin our tour of the National Park. From Pucón, it is 50 kilometers (31 miles). The first town we pass through is Curarrehue, which means 'Stone Altar' in Mapudungun, the native language of the Araucanian people. This area was shaped by glaciers. We will continue uphill through the Trankura Valley to the park, where we will prepare our equipment and begin our hike through coihue and raulisia forests for 3.2 kilometers (2 miles), with a 700-meter (2,300-foot) elevation gain. At the top, we will find ancient araucaria trees, and the forest will open up to reveal the rocky gully. Here, we will take a short break to put on our helmets, stow our trekking poles, and enjoy the beautiful views of the valley. The next section covers 700 meters (2,300 feet) with a 400-meter (1,300-foot) elevation gain, featuring rock climbs and sections with fixed ropes. As we reach the base of the main towers, we will enjoy panoramic views of Lake Tromen and the Lanín and Quinquil volcanoes. Upon arriving at the base in the Boulder and bivouac area, we will set up camp, enjoy a snack, and familiarize ourselves with the terrain. Then, in the afternoon, we will hold a workshop on basic safety systems and climbing techniques in preparation for the ascent. To end the day, the guide will prepare dinner, and then it's time to rest. In the morning, the day begins at 7:00 a.m. with breakfast and the sunrise among the mountains. At 8:00 a.m., we will be at the foot of the route to begin the climb. There are 5 pitches on the traditional climbing wall, which is made of granite-type rock; it is a moderate-difficulty, relaxed climb. Pitch 1: Difficulty 5.9 with one 10a section – 55 meters (180 feet) Pitch 2: Difficulty 5.9 – 55 meters (180 feet) Pitch 3: Difficulty 5.10b – 55 meters (180 feet) Pitch 4: Difficulty 5.7 – 50 meters (164 feet) Pitch 5: Difficulty grade II; this is a walk over rocks along a ridge, belayed on a short rope for safety. The guide will lead all the pitches, and for safety, clients will be belayed from above. The climbing session will last approximately 5 hours. We will reach the summit of the Sierra Millallifen, which stands at 6,620 feet (2,018 meters) above sea level, offering incredible views of the Rukapillan, Quinquilil, and Lanín Volcanoes, as well as Argentine territory, since the summit lies on the border. Most of the time, Andean condors will accompany us. After enjoying the magnificent summit, we will prepare to complete the 5 rappels, following a different line from the one we climbed but on the same face. We will spend approximately 2 to 3 hours on this section. Upon reaching the foot of the mountain, we will store our gear and proceed to our camp. Here, we will take a short break, enjoy a celebratory snack, and prepare our equipment for the descent into the valley. At 7:00 pm, we will arrive at the vehicle, where we will enjoy fresh juice or craft beer and a snack to celebrate this incredible ascent. We will then begin the return trip to the agency, or we will drop you off at your accommodation.Includes
