Description
Discover Santa Cruz de La Palma in a different way: not only by walking its streets, but also by gaining insight into its history and present-day life with an official guide accredited by the Government of the Canary Islands.
Your experience begins at the Barco de la Virgen, where you will learn how this city became a key point on the Atlantic routes between Europe and the Americas. From here, you will begin a walk through the historic center, where each location has a story to tell.
During the tour, you will not only see the monuments, but you will also learn about their significance. We will pass by the Castillo de Santa Catalina, which played a role in defending the city against pirates, and continue on to the Plaza de San Francisco, one of the city's most elegant squares.
The tour then continues to Avenida Marítima, where you can admire the iconic wooden balconies overlooking the ocean, one of La Palma's most recognizable features. Next, you will stroll along Real Street, a historic and commercial hub, where you will discover how everyday life in the city has evolved.
In Plaza de España, the historic heart of Santa Cruz de La Palma, you will learn how social and political life was organized in different eras.
The experience continues to the San Telmo and San Sebastián neighborhoods, which we will reach via the La Luz elevator, enjoying a unique view of the port and the city.
The tour ends at La Cosmológica, a symbol of the island's cultural and intellectual life.
Throughout the tour, you won't just be listening to history; you'll be understanding it and connecting it to the city as it is today, in an engaging, dynamic, and easy-to-follow experience.
