Explore a limestone (karst) valley within the Sicó Limestone Massif, where rock and water have been sculpting the land for ages. The “buracas” are horizontal cave-like cavities, some with entrances up to ~10 meters high. Learn how water dissolves limestone and how wind/temperature help widen openings over long periods. Point out the range of shapes and sizes — some cavities reaching ~2–10 m in diameter and ~1–7 m deep. This valley sits by the small village of Casmilo, adding a genuine rural layer to the landscape.
