Description
Fly Gran Canaria with a true local. I am the only born-and-raised tandem pilot running a fully licensed company on the island. While others learned the landscape recently, I grew up with these winds. Begin with a pickup from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Playa del Inglés, or Gáldar. Enjoy a welcome briefing and get fitted with a comfortable harness, helmet, and radio for in-flight communication.
Launch from a gentle hillside (no steep hikes required) and lift off effortlessly with your instructor pilot strapped securely behind you. Glide smoothly at 20–30 km/h, taking in panoramic 360° views: the rugged cliffs, golden beaches like Las Canteras below, and the endless blue horizon.

Hop into an air-conditioned minivan for a scenic drive north through Arucas, passing banana fields and traditional Canarian fincas (farmhouses). En route, learn about Gran Canaria's microclimates that make its bananas so special—volcanic soil and misty trade winds create the perfect 'banana belt.'
Arrive at the finca in Guía, the heart of Gran Canaria's banana heritage. Join a passionate local guide for an immersive walk through 3,000+ banana plants, including rare varieties from around the world. Discover 'secrets' like sustainable irrigation techniques, pest control with natural predators, and the island's 19th-century banana boom that built empires.
Enjoy a hands-on demo: Peel, de flower and plant a mini banana pup. Sample 3–4 fresh bananas with local cheeses and honey, all organic and harvested that morning.
