Description

Under one of the best skies in the world, at one of the certified astronomical viewpoints of La Palma and the Canary Islands, you’ll experience an unforgettable journey through the Universe. The activity starts with a warm welcome and introduction of the team, where you’ll receive your exclusive private telescope reserved just for you. Guided by a certified astronomical monitor, you’ll begin by observing constellations, planets, and satellites with the naked eye, aided by a laser pointer to help you identify the most remarkable objects. Through binoculars, you’ll explore wide regions of the sky as the guide shares myths, legends, and scientific explanations. Then, with the advanced telescope — exclusive to your group — you’ll travel from the surface of the Moon and planets like Jupiter or Saturn (depending on sky availability) to the most distant stars. Finally, you’ll dive into the depths of space, where galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters take center stage. You’ll enjoy more time than the general group to observe and ask questions, pointing the telescope at the objects you choose for a truly personalized experience. The activity lasts between 1.5 and 1.75 hours, depending on the questions and interest of the group, and starts and ends at the same astronomical viewpoint, in a comfortable and accessible setting for everyone. -Meeting Point and Weather Policy The meeting point for the activity varies depending on the weather conditions at each location: a) 'Llano del Jable Astronomical Viewpoint' (1,341 m.a.s.l.) b) 'Llano de Las Ventas Astronomical Viewpoint' (1,320 m.a.s.l.) Both 39 minutes from Santa Cruz, Cancajos, Los Llanos. c) 'San Antonio Volcano', Fuencaliente (Private location) (633 m.a.s.l.) 40 minutes from Santa Cruz, Cancajos, Los Llanos. 15 minutes from the 'Princess Hotel' We will confirm the exact location and time on the day of the activity, depending on weather and sky conditions (wind, humidity, clouds, haze, government alerts and pre-alerts, site occupancy, and position of objects). Because this is an outdoor activity entirely dependent on the weather and the night sky, the location, starting time, and even the setup may change slightly to ensure the best experience. Every day we check the weather radar and the visible celestial objects, so the start time is approximate and adjusts with sunset and visibility. If the weather at the usual locations is not suitable (due to clouds, wind, or official alerts), and always prioritizing your safety, comfort, and enjoyment, we may move the activity to a private indoor or sheltered location, when available. That’s why it is very important that on the day of the activity you stay attentive to your mobile phone (WhatsApp, if you don't use it, let us know earlier) or email, as we will send you all the details about the exact meeting point and time as soon as we have confirmed the conditions. Thank you for your flexibility — it’s part of the adventure of astronomy! ✨
