Description

Begin your adventure by exploring the historic center of Baños de Agua Santa, one of Ecuador’s most iconic destinations. Visit the main church, Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Agua Santa, and the famous Cascada de la Virgen. Enjoy a short walk and take some photos. Next, travel along the famous Waterfall Route following the Pastaza River, with stops at scenic viewpoints and waterfalls, including Balcón del Cañón del Pastaza, Manto de la Novia, Pailón del Diablo, and Cascada Machay. During the route, stop at a traditional handmade sweets workshop in Baños de Agua Santa, where you will learn about the production process using local ingredients such as sugarcane and guava. These products are 100% natural, free of chemicals and preservatives, preserving traditional recipes. This experience also supports local entrepreneurs and small producers. After the waterfall visits, enjoy a traditional meal in Río Verde. Choose from fresh trout, prepared to your preference: fried, garlic-style, or grilled. Additional options available include grilled or traditional chicken and a vegetarian option. Lunch takes place in local restaurants, offering an authentic Ecuadorian culinary experience. Then, visit the iconic Casa del Árbol, one of Ecuador’s most famous landmarks and a symbol of Baños de Agua Santa. This natural viewpoint offers breathtaking views of Volcán Tungurahua, an active volcano that dominates the region’s landscape. Here you will find the famous “Swing at the End of the World”, where you can swing over the mountains with stunning panoramic views — a must-do photo experience. The site also includes short trails and viewpoints, rest areas, a small interpretive museum, and panoramic photo spots. Optionally, stop at Café del Cielo, located inside Luna Volcán Adventure SPA. This panoramic café is one of the best places to enjoy views over Baños de Agua Santa, especially at sunset. It offers a relaxing experience combining nature and gastronomy, with Ecuadorian high-altitude coffee, artisan desserts, and hot and cold beverages.
