Description
Experience a peaceful and authentic adventure in Puerto Jiménez as you kayak through the Preciosa Platanares Wildlife Refuge, where the river meets the sea. We set off 1–2 hours before high tide, the perfect time for the water to open up a path for us into the deepest channels of the Platanares River Delta.
Accompanied by your local guide, you will paddle under the mangrove canopy and discover why this ecosystem is one of the most productive on the planet. In addition to the wildlife that sometimes peeks out from among the roots, you will learn about the trees' remarkable adaptations to saltwater and the importance of mangroves for the balance of the gulf.
The tour lasts 3 hours and is designed to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace: no prior experience is required, and we will provide you with instructions and the appropriate equipment. The activity starts and ends at our base, where you can also relax at Aventuras Café and visit the shop selling local products.
