What to do in Cuba to have incredible vacations
On your tour of the capital of Cuba you must go to Old Havana, where you will find the Plaza Vieja, a perfect place to visit art galleries and drink something, and where you will also see historic colonial buildings. Go also to the beautiful University, founded in 1728. Don't miss the Museum of the Revolution, the Capitol and Finca El Vigía, which was home to the writer Ernest Hemingway.
Take a break in the Cathedral Square and then go to Vedado to admire its architecture. To see the sunset you must go to Morro, a 16th century fortress. Tour the Malecon by day to enjoy the ocean view and at night to enjoy Cuban music and atmosphere.
Visit the land of tobacco: Viñales
Take a tour to Viñales from Havana to see extensive tobacco plantations and learn about the process of creating a cigar. Admire the Mural of Prehistory and surprise yourself with the geological formations of the area. In the Viñales valley, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco, there are also caves and natural sites of great beauty.
Enjoy the beach in Varadero
Varadero is the main tourist resort of Cuba. Rest at any point of its 22 kilometers of Caribbean beaches and choose from a variety of hotels. Swim in the calm waters, practice water sports and visit the craft markets. To do something different, go to the Saturn or Ambrose caves. Go to the Rum Museum and take a tour to nearby sites of interest.
Enjoy the local art scene
In Cuba you will listen to music everywhere. Here you will find saxophone, jazz, son, salsa, trova, danzón and much more. In the destination where you are, ask for recommendations from a place to go to listen to music, or better: to dance! And go have fun.
If you are in Matanzas you can enjoy Afro-Caribbean rhythms and in Trinidad you will dance to the rhythm of the trova. On the other hand, to enjoy the fine arts you can go to the National Theater in Havana to see a ballet presentation.
This is one of the most picturesque and beautiful cities in Cuba, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Admire the well-preserved colonial buildings, walk through its cobbled streets, listen to live music in the central square and refresh yourself with freshly made cane juice. Explore museums to learn about the Colony, climb to the top of the bell tower or go to nearby beaches. Take a horseback ride to the mountains or walk to the nearby waterfalls. At night, dance salsa with locals and other tourists.
Know the paradisiacal beaches
In addition to Varadero, Cuba has hundreds of more beautiful beaches. Rest with the relaxed atmosphere of the Paradise, Sirena and Mal Tiempo beaches in Cayo Largo. Sunbathe on one of the beaches of Cayo Santa María and swim at Pilar Beach in Cayo Guillermo. Admire the wildlife in Cayo Rico, refresh yourself in Esmeralda beach and enjoy the soft sand of Ancon beach, very close to Trinidad. Stay in an all-inclusive hotel in Cayo Coco and surprise yourself with the color of the water in Cayo Jutias. Dive with sharks in Santa Lucia, snorkel in Guardalavaca and if you want to get away from it all go to Cayo Sabinal or Cayo Levisa.
