Baracoa, declared a National Monument, is a quiet colonial city of Cuba. In Matanzas approximately 13 km from the Bay of Pigs, you will find Playa Larga, an extensive 4 km long sandy beach, famous among other things for being the scene of a skirmish in which an American group, on April 17, 1961 , they intended to take control of the beach and were repelled by the Cuban people.
